Hello all, Im working as a trainee at a dutch company and I've got the assignment to connect a (basic) 56K Dynalink modem to a Cisco 2500 router.
The target it to dial in so I can get a connection with the router from a distance.
Currently I've got the modem connected on the aux port of the router, only the router can (or will not) recognize the modem.
I've tried to use the following commands.
config t, line aux 1, modem autoconfigure discovery. And a couple to set the baud rate to match the modems rate.
When I type debug confmodem Im getting a message that he cant find the modem, I've looked on the internet but I can't find anything that can help me.
It's not for nothing im a trainee so ;)
Hope anyone here can help me get this work, I hope I made myself clear enough here. Thanks in advance!

I've already found the first link before I made this topic, but with that information I still can't use the modem, getting this message when I debug
00:01:43: TTY1: detection speed (300) response ---
---
00:01:43: TTY1: No modem found
But is is connected, and on... :/

The reason you got the message is that the router doesn't have any information about the modem in its modemcap database. In such a case, you'd better gether the modem information from the modem company and save it to the router with the command "modem edit" so that the router get to know how it should run the modem.
