Cisco AnyConnect Linux (openSuse) client disconnects when open/close a terminal window

Hello,

I recently installed openSuse Leap 42.1 with the Linux Cisco AnyConnect Client (version 4.1.06020) . I'm using the GNOME desktop environment.

When I'm start a new secure vpn connection the connection is available since I open or close a new terminal window. I tested this with GNOME terminal, Terminator and Xterm.

In the log (journalctl) I see the following output:

Nov 11 10:31:29 frog terminator.desktop[9033]: /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/terminatorlib/window.py:63: Warning: The property GtkWindow:allow-shrink is deprecated and shouldn't be used anymore. It will be removed in a future version.

Nov 11 10:31:29 frog NetworkManager[3346]: <info>  (cscotun0): link disconnected (deferring action for 4 seconds)

I opened a new window with the program "Terminator". As you can see in the above output after the new window has opened a "Termination reason code 5" disconnects the AnyConnect Client from an active session. This happened when terminal window are opened/closed when the session is active.

This issue is very frustrating, because when you working on a server (connected via vpn) and open a new terminal to start another connection the first connection are dropped...

Are there any workarounds. Are there any fixes out with the Cisco AnyConnect Client on Linux??

Thank you for your help!

I have exactly the same problem with SUSE Leap 42.1, but with Anyconnect Client 3.1.12020

As soon as a terminal is opened or closed the acvpnagent reports this "Termination reason code 5: The user is logging off the system." message and all existing sessions get disconnected.

Haven't found any workaround :-(

I am experiencing the exact same issues with CentOS 7.
Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client version 4.6.00362 (Linux Package)
CentOS Linux release 7.5.1804 (Core)
Linux 3.10.0-862.3.2.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon May 21 23:36:36 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Hello All, I am facing the same issue with all the above replies and I try to resolve it but with no luck..In the beginning I was hoping that I t was permission issues but no. Then I thought that it was terminal permissions, I have use every know terminal and I have the same issue. The vpn session it is disconnecting on it's own. My log is giving me the exact problem: acvpnagent[1857]: Termination reason code 5: The user is logging off the system. I am using "CentOS Linux release 7.5.1804 (Core)" with kernel 3.10.0-862.el7.x86_64 and the version of Cisco-Anyconnect is 4.6.02074. Can you please help me to resolve that?
