Hello.
May I ask you if anyone knows what are the license requirements for successful migration from AnyConnect 4.x to Secure Client 5 from license point of view?
As usual Cisco doesn't make it anyhow easy to understand and available Q&A section is quite useless as there is no clear answer how licenses should be treated.
In Ordering guide it is noted for Cisco Secure Client a new licenses are Advantage (formerly known as ~ PLUS) and Premier (formerly known as ~APEX). It is coparable thought not fully equal to each other from old and new license point of view.
However in case ASAv (virtual ASA) is used what are the necessary steps to migrated to Secure Client from license point of view?
As far as I can understand there is no Smart Licensing to directly see usage (consumption) and therefore this point about Cisco VPN is still the case about to be Compliant and therefore to have enough licenses purchased for that many users installed with VPN agent (Secure Client 5).
Any reference or simple answer to this one?
Hope I have not missed any existing discussion about the same or article from Cisco. So far what I have read it is not a clear answer if Secure client can be used with reference to PLUS/APEX licenses only.
Thank you very much in advance for any hint
Martin

Migrating from 4.x to 5.x the same License you have that should work.

Do you know if it is somewhere written down? Since it is just about compliance after all I believe we are covered, just better to be sure. Also with ASAv seems there is no need for any PAK assignment for this to work.
Thank you
