Does Cisco have any plans on releasing a Linux or Solaris Sparc/Intel of the Cisco VPN client (Unified Framework). If so, what is the time frame? Thanks.

Its currently available for the 5000 concentrator (see http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/aggr/vpn5000/client/linsol/index.htm) The 3002 hardware client is also an excellent alternative for all platforms (http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/pcat/vp3002.htm and http://newsroom.cisco.com/dlls/prod_040401.html)

Can this be used for the VPN 3005 concentrator? I believe the Unified Framework can be used for multiplatform, but the link you posted is for the VPN 5000 concentrator series.
