Configure router as dns server

I'm welling to configure the router (c7200) as a DNS server. However, the router do not recognize "ip dns server" command. Is there a way around this command?

The 7200 series router is extremely old and EOL. If your current OS doesn't support the command and upgrading the IOS also doesn't have that command, then you'll need to find an alternative. Perhaps use Linux or Windows servers as a DNS server? Or get a newer router.

it  all depends on what version of code you running, i suspect the code you running may not have that command

show version - will give information of code running.

 - It is recommended to keep dns services separate from routing and or switching services. As stated by other use a dedicated dns server on linux, windows or an appliance (e.g.). It prevents apps from locking up because in some circumstances otherwise the one may get depended on the other.
