I am configuring a 1721 router running 12.2(21)A. We have found that there is a limit of 1-10 for the number of dialier-lists available. This seems a very low no. seeing that we are configuring this Core router for DDR to many destinations.

A dialer list is used to specify what inside sources are allowed to use the dialer. Many destinations may use the same inside source adresses. A dialer list may contain an access-list that can be fairly long. Using the dialer-group command, you can only specify one dialer list per dialer interface. On a 1721 with max 2 x ISDN WIC this should be sufficient for most applications. Besides, a 1721 is not the best choice for application as core router.

Hello,
I found the same limitation on a 1600 router (only dialer list 1-10 are available). According to the documentation, starting with 12.2(4)T, 128 dialer groups should be available, but I guess, as Leo said, it is probably platform dependent...I was not able to find a document citing the limitations on a per-platform basis...
