Hi,
I'm trying to install Cisco Anyconnect 4.8 (anyconnect-win-4.8.02045-core-vpn-webdeploy-k9.exe) on a Windows 7 Pro, SP1 machine. The installer goes for awhile, the rolls back with the error, "Cisco AnyConnect Secire Mobility Client setyup ended prematurely because of an error." When I run the installer with a log, I think I can pinpoint the problem. The log is long, but it looks like the error is in this section:

So it looks like it has something to do with CA_DriverInstall failing to install acsock64.inf. I've tried running the exe as an administrator, that didn't work. Also looked in Device Manager->Network adapters for anything Cisco-related to uninstall but there was nothing. But "TAP-Windows Adapter V9" and "TeamViewer VPN Adapter" are installed, which I think are adapters for my personal VPN and for Teamviewer.
Any ideas are much appreciated!

Hi,
What antivirus software do you have on your machine?. Try disabling antivirus before installing.
Thanks
John

Bitdefender. I tried both disabling and uninstalling completely, no luck.

Hi. Sorry, did you solve this problem?

I think, the problem is caused by trying to install unsigned acsock64.sys driver.
In my case, it was massive update from 4.7 to 4.10.
3000 computers has been updated normally, but 4 or 5 - got an error.
In this case previous version (4.7) was uninstalled and new version (4.10) didn't install at all.
So I got users without a anyconnect client at all.
I have resumed, that all problems are on Windows 7 x64, and it was outdated versions (without updates).
I have installed a clean old image of Windows 7 x64 (from 2015 year) - and it also have this problem.
Now, I'm trying to update them, with all updates and then I will try to install 4.10

After installing all updates for 5-6 years - it helped.
Version has succesfully updated.
