Im having problem reading if im running EuroDOCSIS or just DOCSIS om my uBR7114E CMTS's. Want to know the max bw on my downstream.

It all looks like im running Edocsis :

Cable1/0 Downstream is up

Frequency 135.5000 MHz, Channel Width 8 MHz, 64-QAM, Symbol Rate 6.952000 Msps

FEC ITU-T J.83 Annex A, R/S Interleave I=12, J=17

-----------

Cable1/0 Upstream 0 is up

Frequency 59.984 MHz, Channel Width 3.200 MHz, QPSK Symbol Rate 2.560 Msps

-----------

interface Cable1/0

cable downstream annex A

cable downstream modulation 64qam

cable downstream frequency 135500000

cable downstream rf-power 60

cable upstream 0 frequency 60000000

cable upstream 0 channel-width 3200000

--------

cmts#sh interfaces ca1/0

Cable1/0 is up, line protocol is up

MTU 1500 bytes, BW 37500 Kbit, DLY 1000 usec,

This line says 37,5mbit but

Available Bandwidth 28125 kilobits/sec

says something else.

----

cisco uBR7114E (EGR) processor (revision A)

----

ubr7100-k8p-mz.122-15.BC2f.bin

----

All modems are SurfBoard 4200E and 5100E models so .. we could run EuroDocsis.

Hope someone can give me some info on this

Hello Martin,

I think you are indeed running EuroDOCSIS, have a look at the table in the link below, the channel width (8Mhz) and the Carrier to noise ration (64 QAM) match your output:

Table A-8 EuroDOCSIS Cable Downstream RF Specifications

Hi and thx for the reply.

I have been studying the information very hard but i still cant explain the info i get on the :

show interface ca1/0 then. Been looking at bug navigator to see if it could be an bug. Been reading the release notes on 12.2 and 12.3, no clue about the information from the interface.

Would like to take one of our uBR7114E's out of production just to test the bandwidth on downstream this but have to many customers on them all.

10mbit is alot on downstream, the diff. between EuroDocsis and Docsis.

question solved :

the CMTS is running WFQ, thats why the counter is on

28125 mbit. 28125/37500*100 = 75 % of the total bw,

thats how much you can reverse with WFQ.
