Hello,
We are setting up remote access over ATM.
We are having DNS problems. We have a 7206vxr atm router acting as a dhcp server. When we dial in we get authenticated and an address from the dhcp pool ok.But dns will not work without adding the full qualified domain name, on an nslookup
we want to be able to define the primary dns suffix for the domain along with issuing ip addresses from the dhcp pool.
You can do this on the client in 'advanced tcp/ip setting' (windows).....but we want to do it from the router. We do not want to have to change default client configs.
Does anybody have an idea how or if you can do this?
Thanks

When you dialin to 7206vxr using window's dualup networking client using PPP, only client ip address, dns server and wins server ip addresses can be allocatd but not the domain name or suffix. That is because of PPP. In PPP, only ip addresses are allocated to dialin client.
But there is a way that window's dialin client can get domain name..after ppp..Here is the url which explains that in detail
