Hi!
I'm having somes problems with the MTU size regarding the VPN Client configuration. I believe Cisco recomends changing the VPN Client MTU size to 1400. That works fine with a dial-up connection but waht if i connect my PC to a LAN? Do i have to change it to 1500 again?
Thanks,
Olindo

MTU is set on each interface individually. Thus you can set your MTU on your dial up adapter, and leave your Ethernet card alone.

Hi Barry!
My question is exactly that: does Cisco recommends only changing the dial-up MTU and not the LAN MTU?

Not sure what Cisco actually recommends, but I see no reason why you shouldn't have one MTU setting for your dial up adapter, and leave the Ethernet card as default.
Prior to me getting a fixed IP address on my ADSL connection at home, I used to attach the DSL direct to the USB port on my PC and run dial up networking over it - and I used to have exactly the configuration you describe. Dial up Adapter MTU was 1400 bytes, Ethernet MTU was default. It all worked fine.
