Locked out during AnyConnect NAM update

I have a customer who we’ve done an ISE deployment for using the NAM client. They are trying to update their NAM client through VPN and upon reboot they are unable to connect to the network because the client has been uninstalled as part of the update process. Can you please share with me any best practices documentation you have on how to properly update NAM? They are using CASE to push out their updates.
