log getting filled with TEI up/down message

Hi,

My logs are getting filled with ISDN TEI up/down messages.Does anyone know why all of sudden I am getting theses messages when the ISDN backup is working without any problems?

How frequently are they happening? Are they happening at regular intervals, or are they related to the ISDN calls? Could you post the exact text?

Did you change the logging level recently?

I didn't change the logging level. Here are the log messages. I tested the ISDN backup and it's working without any issues. My only concern is that my logs are getting filled with these TEI up/down messages.

That's interesting. There are a few things I notice here. First is that the ISDN layer-2 is up for most of the time, so when you test the backup it is unlikely that the ISDN will happen to be down at the time. Second is that it is not happening all the time - in fact it had a burst of problems around 02:00, another around 08:00, and another around 14:00. So we get a burst of events every 6 hours or so. The rest of the time the ISDN is up OK. Each time there was a burst of problems, you lost the layer-2 three or four times, each time for up to 10 seconds.

That seems to rule out protocol or switch-type problems, otherwise it would happen all the time. I cannot explain it for the moment, but are there any other observations? This periodicity of about 6 hours - is it consistent, or was it just coincidence on the logs you posted? If tere is a periodicity of 6 hours, is it affected by placing calls on the line during the interval - that is, is it timed from the last activity? Is the ISDN line connected to a service provider, or to your company switchboard?
