Does this mean that all other VPN encryption modules for the routers does not compress vpn traffic in hardware?
Also Cisco may really want to get the name right in their documentation as LZS stands for Limpel-Ziv-Stac not Limpel-Zif-Stac. If I was Jacob Ziv I think I'd be rather upset that my last name got butchered.
Data Compression AIM for the Cisco 2600 Series Routers
The AIM-COMPR2-V2 provides hardware compression for up to two full-duplex E1 links. Supported are the industry standard Limpel Zif Stac (LZS) and Microsoft Point-to-Point Compression (MPPC) compression algorithms over Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) or Frame Relay. High-Level Data Link Control (HDLC) is not supported.
The new AIM-COMPR2-V2 card replaces the AIM-COMPR2 compression AIM for the Cisco 2600XM series routers.
