We are a bit stumped on this one, even Cisco doesn't have a clue, hope someone on this board can provide an answer.
Our Mac user applied Apple's 5/3/2004 security update which documentated a change to IPSec. User noticed that after the update, when connected to our VPN, their internet connection is blocked and they cannot access any servers they have access to.
If they ping, they are successful in sending out packets but unsuccessful in receiving the packets.
The user logs on to VPN with no problems, the receiving of packets from the network is an issue.
User on 10.3.4 OS, Windows environment mixed with Windows 2003/2000 servers.
thanks

Hi,
It's possible that Mac OS X machine is discarding/flitering the incoming packets, make sure that the built-in personal FW is not blocking anything.
To troubleshoot this issue:
- you can use sniffer to find out whats being dropped.
- take a look at the number of packets encrypted/decrypted on the client
Is any other machine (Mac OS X) with this update has this same problem, if not, try and find out with MAC support as to what they update in that patch on the system.
thanks,
Afaq

Thanks Afaq,
Can you eloborate on sniffer? Is this a utility tool? I do not see this in Network Manager in Mac OS X.
This is one machine only that is outside the network, the others are inside the network and have no need to use VPN.
