Port Fowarding

I am trying to foward a given public IP address to a port on a server with a private IP address.

I have done this with my Linsys router at home, but have never done this in a work envoirment.

I have a client that wants this. (ability to telnet into a server from abroad)

They have a Cisco 1700 Router and a PIX 506E going into a Catalyst 2900 switch.

I'm guessing most of this has to be done on the router. Can you please give me some pointers in the right direction?

Hi Matt,

You need to configure static NAT or Port static NAT on the edge device (could be the 1700 or the PIX based on the setup you have)
