Hi,
I am working on a project in which I connect a SDC modem with my router 3725 on Smart serial port.
The scenario is, A node dial to router, when user dial to Access Server (ROUTER 3725), After the connection is establish and user get an IP address from the Router, when user ping to router reply will comes fine but after 10 to 15 replies, continuously timeout comes, while connection remain established. There is no any dynamic routing protocol use and no access-list is applied on the interface.
Please Help me.

Hi
Can you post the config here and also the log details of the packet drops which you are getting ??
Are you trying to access any application via this connectivity ?
if yes are you trying to access any servers or anything else and getting the drops ??
coz sometime u may get into loading issues also with this kinda of connectivities..
also revert back the kinda external connectivity to the modem is it a normal pstn line terminated in that modem or some other kinda connectivity ?

Hi
From my personal exp with the dial up connections though u get times out u will be able to workout with the applications.
Can you try to stop the ping and try browsing or working with the application and check whether you are really able to work/connect to the server..
Also once you get connected can you issue show users and show connection.using these command you can actually verify the state of the connections on ur router side..
this link will also help u out to get the config verified..
