i'm in need of a solution that could provide something like this:
cpe(ethernet port+pppoe)----transport------NAS
the idea would be to have any kind of cpe that has pppoe capabilities (like a cisco800 or a cisco pix) connect and receive an ip assignment from a NAS that is able to understand and serve a pppoe request.
i honestly don't know if such a solution exists and what it would be. we've talked with our customer about using 802.1x but at this point he's set on using pppoe since he knows this technology.
i was wondering if anybody out there knows about such technology and is willing to discuss this (either in this forum or offline).
