Problems connectiing to PPTP VPN connection PIX 506e

Hi all,

I am currently installing a Cisco PIX 506e Firewall. I tested the unit in a lab environment and was able to access the pix firewall over pptp with the PIX outside interface configured as DHCP. I was also able to enable vpdn on the outside interface. I implemented the PIX at a production enviroment. The only difference was that the outside interface on the PIX had to use pppoe(static) to access the internet. I was able to allow the local area network users to access the internet, but ran into a problem with PPTP being unable to enable vpdn on the outside(public) interface while using pppoe. Does anyone have a fix for this problem? Your input would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Wil

You can't unfortunately configure PPTP and PPPoE on the same interface at the same time, there is no workaround.

If you want remote access for users, and need to continue using PPPoE, you'll have to use IPSec and our VPN client (which is free).
