Query on WIC-1AM

Hi

I need to know if the WIC-1AM modem supports caller ID. If so can you point me at the IOS commands that I need to configure and utilise this.

None of the Analog modem supports caller-ID detection on the modem itself. You can have analog phone connected behind the analog modems which can show the caller-id for incoming call but modem doesn't support that.

Not sure what is the requirements using caller-id on the modem calls.

Hi, according to the manual I found for the modem, the command AT+VCID=1 enables caller id. However when I use it on a line with caller id I get no output.

We wish to use caller-id as extra layer of security for OOB management of a router. i.e. it will only answer calls from a line(s) in our network ops centre.

I have done as you mentioned and connected a caller-id unit on the phone port of the WIC-1AM and it works ok. So the id data is definately reaching the module.
