Remote Access to my LAN

I want to make remote access to my LAN from home and i need to configure my router to do that but without using server for Authentication, all i need is to define the users profiles on the router only. is it possible? and if so wat is the configuration to do so? :)

I feel you can do this by configuring ur router for accepting PPTP client sessions initiated from ur home..
