Hi all,

i currently have a updated backup of my cisco asa 5540 config using "show run" as well as the identity cert and root ca cert files.

The identity and root ca certs are meant for my vpn.

If i were to choose the "reset to factory default" option from my asdm, can i confirm if the below steps are sufficient to fully restore my config.

1) input the "show run" backup config from CLI

2)input the identity and root ca cert files via GUI right?

TIA!

May I ask why you want to factory default and restore everything? Unless you are editing parts of the configuration doesn't make much sense...

You could perform write erase and reload from CLI and that will erase all configuration. Pretty sure this would help you avoid resetting the cert files as well. You can then TFTP your running config to the ASA and it should enter in the configuration.
