Hi.
I have a router Cisco 2612 running IOS 12.3(12a) with a WIC-1ADSL card. The line is up and running without any problem. I'm seeing that now and then the Virtual-Access interfaces that is bounded to the Dialer Interface flaps and ppp start negotiation all over again. Is there a way to maintain the Dialer/Virtual-Access up all the time without the flaps.
I have the commands ' dialer persistent' , 'dialer idle-timeout' to the maximum value possible but the interface flaps after a couple of minutes..
Please advise,
-Jose

Dialer interface wil be up/up spoofing all the time. Virtual access interface is then one on which the PPP is terminated. So if for some reason we ppp keepalive is missed on that interface, it may flap. So you can play with command "keepalive xx" under the dialer interface.

You're right. the Dialer interface is up/up all the time. The one I'm having problems is the Virtual access interface. The keepalive is at the default value and I think that if the keepalive is missed will be flapping more often. It seems that other idle-time out paramenters is causing the interface to flap every x minutes (sometimes more than 5 minutes).
I will be looking to all the idle-timeout paramenters under the dialer interface as well as the ppp timeout paramenters.
Thanks in advanced,
-Jose
