I currently have an SA520 demo unit installed and I am having great difficulty with configuring remote VPN clients. I was able to get three point-to-point hardware VPN tunnels in place with no problems. But so far I have not had any luck with the software clients, and I have tried three different ones up to this point. I first tried the Cisco quick vpn and then the full on Cisco VPN Client. Neither worked. I am now working with the Shrewsoft VPN client and appear to have gotten much further than with the other two, but yet it still will not complete a connection, even once. On the device side, all I am doing is using the VPN wizard to configure a remote access policy for an end user. It seems very straightforward. I have followed all of the instructions in the manual. There are only a handful of options to even select. I can't imagine it should be this difficult. Yet on the client side nothing ever works.
I thought about listing out all of the various errors and problems that have come up, but there are quite a few. So I thought I'd start by just asking if there is anyone else out there that has had a very tough time getting software VPN clients to work with this device. I can't imagine I'm the only one. I would go through the regular support channels but since this is a demo unit, I do not have a support contract on it yet.
I'm hoping someone will just have a magic answer, but if not we can get into the specific error messages and go through the troubleshooting process accordingly.
