Does anyone know if the SSL VPN Client will work on Mac OS X using Safari? It says it uses Java to download the client. Does anyone know what kind of file is downloaded? Is it a "EXE" file?

As far as I know, SSL VPN client will work only on Microsoft Operating systems and will not work on Mac OS.

According to the cisco docs, Mac OS is supported using safari. That being said, I can't get it to work from my mac. It takes my name and password, then fails when it tries to start (or maybe install) the client.
And our IT dept won't give a copy of the regular installable OS X client. Sheesh - what a service org they are!

SSL VPN client for Small Business Devices are supported, but with the most recent update to the Java version it breaks the MAC's ability to write the needed files to the machine to run the VPN Client. Java version 6 update 22 was the last version that was working. We tested at SBSC using a MAC OS X 10.6 with TimeMachine running. We tested with 6 update 22 then performed an update to the OS. We then tested again and was receiving a Java Security violation error. We tried running in root user with no success ether. Cisco is aware of this problem and is working on a solution. This is a security restriction issue with the MAC OS X operating system. On Microsoft products the Java update doesn't lock down the security of the OS like it did in the MAC's. To my knowledge there is no firmware yet available to resolve this issue. If you have a MAC OS X device the only resolution at this time is if you have created a TimeMachine backup of your MAC you can roll back to the previous Java version.
