Using Cisco VPN Client via Terminal Services / Remote Desktop

I have recently installed the Cisco VPN Client (4.8.x) on a fresh clean Windows 2003 server machine.

The thought was to RDP into the Windows 2003 server and utilize the VPN client.

However, it does not seem like the VPN client likes to play well with RDP. I keep getting an "Error 56: The Cisco Systems, Inc. VPN Service has not been started. Please start this service and try again." message. When I check the services, the aforementioned service IS running.

The client loads fine when on the console itself. This only happens when attempting to run the client over RDP.

Does anybody have suggestions or work-arounds for this issue?

William,

I've run the vpn client using rdp on a 2000 box just fine the only thing I've had to make sure is that splittunneling was turned on.
