Using VPN behind a firewall

I tried using VPN Client in a new office, and it does not work. I need to know the port or ports it uses that i can request the IT guy to open it in the firewall.

Or does anyone else know a way?

You need UDP ports 500 and 4500

are they the only ones, because in a different topic it mentioned these port:

(outbound, local port >1023, remote port 62514 and 62515)
