Hi,
We are using Cisco PIX firewall 515E with Cisco VPN Client for VPN 3000 Windows version. We don't have any problem with the normal dialup users but not with user using ADSL connection. They can ping the PIX firewall but cannot establish the VPN tunnel. It just stuck at the connecting to xx.xx.xx.xx Remote peer is no longer responding. Please advise.
Thank you,
Zinie.

Hi Zinie,
This might be happening due to the PAT (Port address translation) at the ADSL router. For us to connet to a PIX we would need to have 1 to 1 static NAT translations for the client machines going out. Otherwise this will not work, as PIX doesn't support IPSec/PAT connections yet.

Aamir

Zinie, Aamir,
What kind of alternative we have to use Cisco VPN client software with this kind of ADSL router configuration ? It is possible to configure a workaound in the client ´s PC? in the ADSL router?
