VPN 3.0 client directly to a 2651 routers bri/dialer interface?

Hi, I'm having trouble getting a VPN setup of a 2651 router and the VPN 3.0 client to work. The clients dial into the 2651 and where the crypto map lies on the dialer interface. The client logs in ok and the "tunnel" is up, but no traffic flows. If I use the same setup but uses an second ethernet port in the 2651 as the oputside interface, and connects that to Internet. And then dial the internet with the client, everything i ok. So whats the difference in substituting the ethernet outside with an dialer outside?
