VPN Client and IRC

I have noticed that VPN Client, even when not connected and even after software is removed, blocks the DCC SEND function from my IRC client under Win2K.

I had to reinstall the O/S to have it work again. But as soon as I reinstalled the VPN client, the SEND failed again.

What changes does the installer make to my system ? I already noticed that when deinstalling it forgot to turn back on the IPSec automatic start, but there must be some other things ! Any help ?

The DCC protocol does not operate on a fixed port or range of ports, and probably cannot be made to work through NAT. Also, it might not work with the firewall feature which would need to be disabled.
