I have a remote user who is continually getting booted off VPN and received the followin message.
Runnind XP Pro-satellite-static IP
Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the Client. Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding.
Any ideas?

If you are tiring to run it over a satellite connection it is going to time out. It takes to long to pass the information from the client to the concentrators. I have had this same issue with a user and even changing the time out setting made no difference. I would contact the satellite provider and see if they have any suggestions. I don't think that Cisco supports satellite connections.

Thank you for your response. I also bumped up the time out with no result. I contacted teh satellite provider and their answer to me was they are not trained in VPN so no support was available. I am going to try and contact a Cisco technician and see what they say. I'll let you know what they come up with.

Just a side note to this, the latency is too high to get consistent VPN connectivity when using satellite. I would imaging that TAC will defer to "support" this type of connection
