VPN for 6 employees

what devices on LAN side do I need to allow 6 remote employees to establish connection using VPN. I am mostly interested in Cisco devices.

do you have a firewall in place? A 10 user licensed cisco pix 501 will allow 10 concurrent vpn connectins, and 10 machines to sit on the corporate lan. In the US, it retails for US$400. If you have more machines than that on your corporate lan, a 50 user version is available as well.

But will PIX also authenticate users? and how? Thank you

you could setup accounts on the pix itself (with only permissions to vpn, not to admin the pix), or tie into a radius server somewhere.
