Hi,
I seem to have a problem when trying to assign an Ip address to the 10/100 ethernet port. This port is provided for a connection to the dsl modem. But I'm not able to ping the router if connected with this port if I use one of the switch port (ip address assigned to the vlan) everything works fine.
Greetings,
Gunther.

Have you checked cabling ? Is the interface status up / up - "show interface fa0/0" Can you paste configs of your router ?

Does the router accept the IP & Mask you assign?
Is the host your are trying to ping from on the same subnet?
If you are connected through a Cisco switch does CDP see the devices? (show cdp neighbor)
Merry Christmas.
