VPN Speeds

Hello,

I have a couple of GRE/IPSEC VPNs between sites.

I've run IPERF and seeing really poor bandwidth/transfer speeds. Sometimes as low as 250K. At each end of the VPN tunnel is a 100MB and 50MB link which I know is not saturated. Is there any reason why I get such low speeds when it is clear that I have fast enough links at each end?

What devices are you using?

L3 Switches?

As an example, on the Tunnel running really slow, I have a 2811 at one end, and there is a 2921 router at the other end.

I've seen this problem with L3 switches, but they were related to specific hardware, so don't apply to you. good luck.
