Warning <Updater> wsa: The updater has been unable to communicate...

Dear all,

We ‘ve been receiving a large number of emails with the exact same error, it seems that the updater has been unable to communicate with the update server, anyone has this error before?

The Warning message is:

 

The updater has been unable to communicate with the update server for at least 1h.

 

Last message occurred 36 times between Mon Jan 16 08:05:11 2023 and Mon Jan 16 09:03:15 2023.

 

Product: Cisco S600V Web Security Virtual Appliance

Model: S600V

Version: 12.5.1-043

Pretty sure its this: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/field-notices/725/fn72502.html

You should have received new license files from Cisco's automated TAC agent Sherlock.

If you didn't, open a TAC case and get updated files.

I had the same issue with VLNs supplied to me after the FN was published but before the automated set was sent. Applying the automated set fixed it.

also please note that there were some changes in the Certificates  :

Field Notice: FN - 72502 - Secure Web, Secure Management, and Secure Email Virtual Appliances Might Not Receive Updates After January 13, 2023 - Configuration Change Recommended - Cisco

 

 

on the other hand, to see more details about why you see that error in the Displayalerts, please check the Updater_logs from CLI >>Grep

Yes indeed it was the FN 72502 and yes soon we are planning an upgrade !!
