Hi Community,

is there any plan to integrate even 3rd party phones for Webex Calling?

https://help.webex.com/en-us/qkwt4j/Supported-Devices-for-Webex-Calling

If the customer owns 3rd party doorbell, I havnt find any way to register even these devices and If I register these on ISR i dont know if Video is supported..

Thank you for your reply.

Support for third party handsets is not likely to be added.  There is consideration around these open SIP style devices, such as doorbells, intercoms, etc.  but nothing currently planned.

Hi krizvite,

I think you see 3rd party devices in that slide because it talks about Broadworks and Broadcloud but the link you provided is more updated:

Webex just released a video on youtube showing 3rd party devices supported with Webex Control Hub in September 2021 updates.

Here: https://youtu.be/PHs579lJ7vE

Mark 16:25 min

Hopeful this works so we can register some of ours...

If any informed Cisco employees see this...please share what you know about this update now that it's public.

Setup guide link etc...

Thanks!

Check Updates of September 29th: https://help.webex.com/rdmb0/ Customer managed devices: Support for door devices from 2N, Algo, CyberData, Grandstream

And the configuration help article for that at https://help.webex.com/nemh93t/

Only those door intercoms are planned, no generic device support.

Maybe you can trick around by using the provided credentials and put them into a sip client -- for sure, that's not supported, but maybe it works..

Sometimes, Cisco sees the business needs and implements such often-requested features -- this is one of those..

It was already mentioned some time ago on the roadmap.

There is currently no beta for the feature, but the slide looks as if you will be able to add a generic SIP device. CH will then provide you the required credentials for the device or softclient.

I'm also looking forward to it.

Wondering if there is any update to this? I know your response was a year ago, so I'm hoping for good news. We're consdering moving to Webex calling at some point but we use 3rd party sip devices for external call boxes and sip horns in our shops.

Thanks

Aaron

Hi Mike, thank you for your reply.

Why it was presented in official slides with 3rd party phones?
