MNO mid-call controls-Hold/Resume, Blind Transfer

In March, 2022, webex mobile has a new feature called MNO mid-call controls. Refer to https://help.webex.com/en-us/article/ne4v0oy/What's-New-in-Webex-for-BroadWorks

The above link has another link to download webex configuration file, which has some brief description, such as "this mid-call controls is mobile webex only. It allows the mobile client to control via XSI native calls on the mobile device that are anchored on BroadWorks. And XSI should be applicable to the following types of calls:

  • Outgoing calls initiated with Call Back or native dialer
  • Incoming calls delivered with BeAnywhere

"

However, neither the help page nor the config file outlines user experience if xsi call contril is enabled. For instance, from where to hold/resume the call, and how to do the blind transfer. The config file doesn't provide details for parameter XSI_CALLL_CONTROL_DEPPLOYMENT_TYPE_WXT and DEPLOYMNT_DEVICE_TYPE_n_WX (n=1-3)

If someone can share the details regarding user experience and configuration, it's highly appreciated.

Thanks for the response.

Our deployment is Webex for BroadWorks. We provision Poly as the main location and webex mobile and desktop client as Shared Call Appearance location.

If the webex mobile makes a native call through Click To Dial, then the call is active on native dialer. In this case, can the mobile webex client send a XSI call control to put the call on hold? On my mobile webex, after I initiated the Click to Dial call and the call got connected, I didn't see any menu or button to trigger XSI call to BroadWorks.

If webex mobile cannot send XSI call, then a third-party app is needed to send XSI, correct?

This feature is available for "Webex for BroadWorks" deployments only, not Webex Calling, so it may not apply unless you are a Webex for BroadWorks carrier or customer.

The user experience is that the user is able to perform mid-call actions in the Webex App when the call is active on the native dialer of the mobile, and the BroadWorks deployment is set up for XSI Call Control. Webex for BroadWorks requires BroadWorks call control

For Webex Calling, this feature is also being made available and XSI Call Control is enabled natively with Webex Calling. For Webex Calling, the feature will apply to Webex Go, which uses the Webex Go mobile network with an eSIM, and will also apply to calls delivered to the native mobile dialer using Single Number Reach.
