Webex Calling - Line-specific ring settings in mobile app

I have a user with 3 lines assigned in Webex Calling (one primary/direct extension and 2 shared lines). The user would like calls to their primary line to ring in the Webex iOS app, but not the 2 shared lines. In the Call Settings (accessed via the desktop app), the ringtone for Line 3 (one of the shared lines) is set to Off. What settings am I missing to prevent that line from ringing in the mobile app?

You're on the right track by trying to configure per-line ringtone settings, but Webex Calling (Control Hub) currently does not fully support per-line ringtone or call alert suppression on the mobile app (iOS/Android) — only the desktop app respects those individual line ringtone settings.

Here's what’s happening:

  • Ringtone settings for shared lines (Line 2 & 3) in the desktop app can be configured to "Off" — and it works there.

  • However, on the Webex mobile app, these shared line settings are not honored consistently — all assigned lines may ring unless otherwise controlled centrally (from Control Hub or via workarounds).

Options to Prevent Shared Lines from Ringing on iOS:

Option 1: Remove Shared Line Appearance from Mobile App

This is the most effective method.

If the user doesn’t need to answer shared lines from mobile, you can:

  1. Go to Control Hub > Users > [User] > Calling > Client Settings

  2. Under Shared Line Appearance, unassign those shared lines from the mobile device profile or Webex app assignment.

Result: The shared lines will no longer appear or ring on the mobile app, but will remain active on the desktop app or MPP phone.

Option 2: Use "Silent" Custom Ringtone (iOS-side workaround)

Not ideal, but if the shared lines must appear on mobile:

  • Set the ringtone for those lines to a silent ringtone using a custom sound file on the iPhone.

  • This is a user-side iOS trick and not a Webex-native setting.

Option #1 sounds like the best option to me, but unfortunately, I'm not seeing a section under the Calling tab called "Client Settings". Under Calling, I only see the following sections:

- Numbers
- Voicemail, fax, announcement language and timezone
- Music on Hold
- Call handling
- Between-user permissions
- User call experience
- Agent Settings
- Hide Calling Settings

Is there another setting somewhere that enables the "Client Settings" section? Have these options moved to a different location in the Control Hub?
