Hi Guys
We are currently implementing Cisco Webex calling, all going well so far, however we appear to run into an issue.
We have a requirement to dial 0 for our main reception, however our partner says Webex calling cannot do single digit dialling i.e 0
Is this true? seems a bit poor if so, they are saying 4 digits minimum.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know

Hi @carl_townshend,
At this time, single digit dialing is not available. But there is a features called "Translation Pattern" coming soon which will allow to do the single digit operator dialing.

If you need this feature immediately then you can reach out to your partner to be part of beta program.

Hey Carl,
we have ordered WebEx Calling today using Ciscos sub-ordinary called Placetel.
We have requested to use the one digit 0 for our main desk and they have set it on their side. It is not configurable in webex. you need to let the partner configure it. It works.
Cheers
Leon

Currently the call flow that youre looking for is not possible and yes 2 digits extensions are your only option. However there are translation patterns that are coming in the April time frame, that would allow you do what youre asking.

It's important to confirm the specific capabilities and limitations of the Cisco Webex Calling system regarding single-digit dialing. While it's uncommon for modern phone systems to restrict dialing to four digits or more, there may be specific configurations or constraints within the Webex Calling platform that need to be addressed.
Here are some steps you can take to address this issue:
1. Verify Documentation: Review the official documentation provided by Cisco for Webex Calling. This documentation should outline the supported dialing patterns and any limitations.
2. Consult Support: Reach out to Cisco's technical support team or your Cisco partner for clarification on this issue. They should be able to provide insight into whether single-digit dialing is supported and if there are any workarounds or configurations that can address your specific requirements.
3. Explore Workarounds: If single-digit dialing is not supported out of the box, explore alternative solutions or workarounds. This might involve configuring a different access code for your main reception, such as dialing "9" followed by the reception extension.
4. Consider Customization: Depending on the flexibility of the Webex Calling platform, you may be able to implement custom dialing rules or scripts to accommodate your specific requirements. Consult with your IT team or a Cisco-certified consultant to explore this option.
5. Evaluate Alternatives: If single-digit dialing is a critical requirement that cannot be met with Webex Calling, consider alternative telephony solutions that offer the desired functionality. However, be sure to weigh the benefits and drawbacks of switching systems against the specific needs of your organization.

Webex Calling supports extensions with two digits as well, see https://help.webex.com/pxtu15/
You may configure a speed dial for your users, so they basically have a one button dial to the reception as well. But that will work for devices only, not for mobile apps.
