Hi all,
as there is just one Network RJ45 Network interface available on the Cisco KIT EQ (for external network connection), I wonder if there could be a second network available via WIFI or an external USB Adapter (USB-A to LAN).
Did anybody try this and get two networks (parallel). I am asking this because sometimes the network is under control of the customer and do not allow any external equipment to control the KIT EQ. I have 2 installations where I use an RS232/USB Adapter to control the device but....Hey...We have 2025
Thanks in advance Alex

Hi Jonathan,
thank you very much for the detailed answer. The issue I have with this local Link network is: the codec is always 192.168.254.1.
For installations that only have one Single KIT EQ this is ok but for customers that have more than one it fails. Very sad as Cisco has such a good Know How in Networks
Thanks Alex

You cannot add a USB NIC; however, the link local ports support the same SSH and HTTP API integration methods as the LAN interface. Per the xAPI Command Reference Guide, Cisco reserves 192.168.254.225-254 for static assignment to 3rd-party peripherals such as a control processor or DSP; the codec is always 192.168.254.1.
You can add a small Ethernet switch if you need more link local ports. Cisco is positioning their Catalyst 1300 Series, which helps from a supportability standpoint - especially with AES67 audio since they wrote a switch config guide to get it tuned properly. You're not obligated to use Cisco switches though.
