As a host I book meetings for my team.

I am not needed to join all the meetings I book.

Currently, I have to join and start the meeting, only then other participants can join the meeting.

How can I book a meeting and make it happen without me joining the meeting?

Hello @kedarhukeri ,

Thanks for posting your question in the communities!

You need a host to start a meeting. If you are not needed on the meeting, then you can also have an alternate host to the meeting who can start the meeting.

Please see the link below for the steps on adding an alternate host.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Please return the feature for meeting participants to join a conference call without the host on the line. If the line is just being used for a conference call (an no online features being utilized) all the participants are not allowed in until the host is there. Some participants may have to dial in numerous times to be allowed into the meeting. Participants are not even provided with the option to wait for the host - they are just hung up on. There is no reason this feature should have gone away. There is no reason this feature can't be restored.

Please lookk at the option for Personal Conferencing. You will need to login to your site, go to My Preferences > Audio - Setup.

Generate a new Personal Conference and it will create a new audio only dial in with unique meeting codes. This along with alternate host permissions and the site setting to allow attendees to join audio X minutes in advance will allow you to have an individual account setup "old fashion" with a traditional audio only option.

A number of questions:

1) Your message indicates I should look for "My Preferences". I only see
"Preferences" with the gear wheel icon. Is "Preferences" correct or is there
another location for "My Preferences"?

2) The next step in the message indicates I should go to "Audio - Setup". I
don't see a link within "Preferences" for "Audio - Setup". I see a link for
"Audio and Video". Which is correct?

3) The message instructs me to "Generate a new Personal Conference" - I
don't see any page or location where it gives me the option to "Generate a
new Personal Conference."

4) I tried to "Let others host my Personal Room meetings without me" and
entered the e-mail address of a colleague. The system denied this an would
only accept: "Only users who have a host account on this site can be
alternate hosts." That response does not make sense whatsoever and runs
completely counter to the concept of designating other people to host a
meeting in your absence.

5) I could not find any location with alternate host permissions that would
allow attendees to join audio X minutes in advance.

Basically - I can't seem to follow any of the instructions provided. I seem
to think I am looking at something completely different.

Can you please provide more specific instructions. I just want to set up a
conference call. It should not be this difficult.
