Maximum Participants in Breakout Rooms

Hi all,

I am quite confuse with the term stated by Webex about breakout rooms.

For Breakout Sessions in Webex with 1000 capacity
*Up to 100 Breakout sessions
*Up to 100 participants per Breakout
Note: * The total number of participants cannot exceed 1000.

Let say I have 500 participants login in one Webex meeting session. And then I decided to open only 2 breakout sessions. Based on the statements, is it that the event will be as below?

Breakout Room 1 - 100 participants max

Breakout Room 2 - 100 participants max

Main Session - is it all the remaining 300 participants that cannot go inside any breakout rooms will stay here?

Is there any chances that the breakout rooms can fill in let say 250 participants each?

Thank you.

The link https://help.webex.com/en-us/WBX26731/What-is-the-Maximum-Number-of-Participants-in-a-Webex-Session-or-Call  at specifically calls out Training centre where breakouts have existed for a while.  Webex Training *Breakout Sessions.

For Webex Meetings as sent before

Its any combination in a breakout room so long as you dont exceed your Webex Meeting plan which is normally 1000 users.

Anyone NOT in a breakout room sits in the main part of the meeting.

Lets say you have a webex meeting plan of 1000, and you have a webex meeting with 500 people.  250 in breakout room 1, 200 in breakout room 2 and 50 will sit in the main meeting.

Hope that clarifies.

Thank you so much Mr. Ashish Patel for the clarification on this matter. The situation that you explain really make me understand how the features are.

I am wondering if you can amend the Help Page and make a clearer statements that there are different features and limitations between Meeting's Breakout Rooms capacity & Training's Breakout Room capacity.

So you mean, for webex training the maximum breakout participants will be 100 and for meeting maximum breakout participants will be  based on the meeting licenses capacity ? AM I correct ?

Does this link help you
https://help.webex.com/en-us/nroo6fs/Webex-Meetings-Breakout-Sessions
"The number of participants in a breakout session is limited by the meeting capacity of your plan. For example, for plans that allow 1,000 people, you can have 100 sessions with 10 people in each, 20 sessions with 50 people in each, and so on."

No it didn't help.

It only stated the general solution to a max of 1000 participants with max number of breakout sessions can be created, but i want to know what happens to the remaining of participants if we are not creating maximum number of BR, but only a few.. As i mention before.. If i only have 500 participants, and o open only 2 breakout rooms, what will happens to the remaining participants?

Thank you..

The number of participants in a breakout session is limited by the meeting capacity of your plan.

I am sorry, is it true as you said it? Breakout rooms can be fill in more than 100 participants? Is there any statements anywhere or proof of it have been done before this? I am really confuse as I can't find about it anywhere, as if it doesn't happen to anyone ever. It even hard to believe because the only official statement i found stated that "up to 100 participants per breakout rooms".

I would really hoping this is true and there are any of the Cisco representatives clarify this topic and make ammendment to the Webex Help Page.

Anyways, thank you so much for your help Mr. Nithin Eluvathingal.

Thank you.

  • Maximum number of breakout sessions in a meeting will be  100.

Where do you find that  "up to 100 participants per breakout rooms".Could you please share the link.

I didn't notice this, Your  maximum participetns  in a breakout  will be 100. I got confused with the https://help.webex.com/en-us/nroo6fs/Webex-Meetings-Breakout-Sessions

So if your license capacity is 1000, you can have maximum 10 breakout session with maximum 100 participants. and that will the Max.
