Q: Very nice to meet all of you
Cole Callahan - 13:07
A: Nice to meet you as well Brian! Thanks for joining us today. We are glad to have you here :)
________________________________________________________________

Q: Will today's discussion venture into technical challenges in migrating to Webex from Jabber?
Luke Clifford - 13:16
A: It will cover the enablement of XMPP Federation to allow messaging interop and UCM calling from jabber to Webex
________________________________________________________________

Q: When will Jabber be EOL? Will Webex get some of the same features that Jabber and CMS has? Like locking the call, participant list, etc?
________________________________________________________________

Q: Will this be for on premise implementation or will Jabber still be available for on prem?
Luke Clifford - 13:21
A: Cisco internally utilised Webex Messenger for IM in jabber so this migration was from cloud to cloud. Jabber is still available for on-prem IM&P
________________________________________________________________

Q: How is Cisco addressing Free Jabber for Everyone vs. Licensed WebEX Messaging? Not all of my users are "Knowledge Workers" covered under our Flex license for CM and WebEx Meetings.
________________________________________________________________

Q: how did cisco reconcile the differences between webex meetings and webex "teams"? We have users that join meetings through webex "teams" and then are not able to access in meeting chat, qa, polling etc...
A: This question has been answered verbally.
________________________________________________________________

Q: When will be Jabber be end of life?
Patrick Eustace - 13:29
A: There are no plans to EOL Jabber, it remains client of choice for those customers remaining on prem
________________________________________________________________

Q: What is rebranded?
Luke Clifford - 13:28
A: Webex Teams to Webex
________________________________________________________________

Q: No question, just an experience report
The rebranding was/is in my opinion especially unfortunate for companies that previously used Jabber and CWMS. Especially since the US Webex sites offer more features than the ones in Europe (keyword "full featured meeting experience").
________________________________________________________________

Q: For the phone side, did you suggest/push employees to use soft phones, or did you allow desk phones? What about DID numbers, how did you migrate that without phone service interruption?
________________________________________________________________

Q: We recently discovered Webex doesn't display presence (in a meeting) for generic non-webex related outlook meeting appts. This seems pretty basic for an IM client to display, but curious if you can comment on other feature parity discrepancies between webex and jabber clients.
Cole Callahan - 13:36
A: This question has been answered verbally.
________________________________________________________________

Q: On feature parity, one question between Jabber and Webex UCM are the number of media channels. We never used Jabber and went straight to Webex UCM. We encounter limitations on media channels (for example share a screen with one person and call someone else, place a PSTN call on hold to answer a Webex app call, or join 2 different meeting notifications). Did those challenges exist in Jabber?
________________________________________________________________

Q: We are in process of migrating our users from Jabber to WebEx teams. Since we are utilizing hybrid messaging it is very hard to analyze the teams messaging usage. Control hub shows jabber as well as teams chats utilization in one report and hence it is hard to differentiate.
________________________________________________________________

Q: Is there VDI support for the new Webex client like there is for Jabber? I think there is a JVDI client but not sure if it's for Webex Desktop app or new Webex app
Luke Clifford - 13:42
A: yeah the is a VDI client for

________________________________________________________________

Q: Can you elaborate on your direction of Free Webex App vs the paid version. There is a lot of functionality in the free version even in an Enterprise environemnt
________________________________________________________________

Q: If we have the meetings module enabled on the "cross-launch" version of Webex App for a client, but they are currently using Jabber--what is the process to switch over to the Webex App? Is there an easy location to point them to on how to do that?
Cole Callahan - 13:43
A: This question has been answered verbally.
________________________________________________________________

Q: can you comment on the webex "teams" linux client and when we can expect calling features.
Cole Callahan - 13:47
A: This question has been answered verbally.
________________________________________________________________

Q: Is there any plan to build a "survivability" mode in Webex app, so, in case of on-prem CUCM and WAN outage, people can continue to use telephony services at a minimum.
________________________________________________________________

Q: Will productivity tools be going EOL?
________________________________________________________________

Q: along those same lines, will Webex Calling be a separate app from the all new Webex app?
________________________________________________________________

Q: Non-org meeting presence issue is still not addressed in WebEx teams. Our leadership has raised this issue many time as they receive calls and chats during non-org WebEx meetings or events.
________________________________________________________________

Q: And about webex app integration with CMS ( webbridge3) ?
________________________________________________________________

Q: Is there a way to add Jabber to the WebEx Teams so they can work together until we have transitioned our departments?
Cole Callahan - 13:48
A: This question has been answered verbally.
________________________________________________________________

Q: Which client is recommended in and on-prem UCCX deployment with all agents being remote, Jabber or Webex?
Luke Clifford - 13:49
A: Within Cisco our UCCX agents utilise Webex, and Finesse
________________________________________________________________

Q: There are some inconsistencies with calendar integration between webex meetings, jabber and webex. webex uses the calendar connector and the others will connect directly to outlook. the calendar connector does not show everything that jabber or webex meetings would. I just finished a migration of about 200 users from jabber/webex meetings to webex and alot of users are complaining about this. we are using the webex "unifed". are we ever going to get the same experience?
________________________________________________________________

Q: And about webex app integration with CMS ( webbridge3) ? any plans to this?

________________________________________________________________

Q: Is there a list of feature that will not be carried forward?
________________________________________________________________

Q: If you had issues with migrating UCCX Finesse users from Jabber for Softphone to WebEx what were they? Understood CUCM calling is required.
________________________________________________________________

Q: What client is recommended in an on-prem UCCE deployment with all agents being remote, Jabber or Webex?
________________________________________________________________

Q: Can you sync CUCM company directory with the WebEx app
________________________________________________________________

Q: Jabber with Messanger was EOL in March - is this service still available or has it been disabled
at this point for customers who have not transitioned over
Cole Callahan - 13:54
A: This question has been answered verbally.
________________________________________________________________

Q: some clients have jabber for everyone. How they migrate to webex app , since j4everyone was free?
________________________________________________________________

Q: Can the site link Patrick keeps referencing be posted in Q&A?
Cole Callahan - 13:57
A: https://essentials.webex.com/journey-to-webex.html
________________________________________________________________

Q: Another question that jabber had was chat federation with S4B , and now with Webex app we dont have it?
________________________________________________________________

Q: If we need to migrate our UCCE contact center from CIPC to Jabber, should we just skip Jabber and move to webex?
________________________________________________________________

Q: when will extension field be added to directory sync
