Introduction
How to configure LEAP on Cisco Airespace Wireless LAN controllers
Resolution
To enable LEAP authentication on the Wireless LAN controller you just have to enable 802.1x based authentication on the controller for the specific SSID. To do this using the GUI complete these steps.
- From the Summary page click on WLANs
- Click on New on the right hand corner on the GUI to define a new SSID for the WLAN
- In the WLAN > New page enter the SSID for the WLAN network and select the WLAN identifier from the pull down menu. Click on Apply. WLAN > Edit page appears
- In this page under Security Policies --> Layer 2 Security , select 802.1x authentication from the pull down menu and click on Apply. You can also configure the 802.1x parameters available in the same page.

Once this done the controller will forward EAP authentication packets between the Wireless Client and the Authentication server.
Note: The Wireless Clients and the Authentication server should also be configured for EAP authentication.
For information on how enable EAP authentication through the CLI read Configuring Layer 2 Security section of Configuring Wireless LANs
