Core Issue

Resolution

A WLAN override allows you to configure Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) to allow only a specific Access Point (AP) to let the wireless device associate.

A WLAN override allows you to specify which of the enabled service set identifiers (SSIDs) to broadcast from an AP, on an individual basis.

Complete these steps in order to configure a WLAN override:

  1. In the WLC GUI, navigate to Wireless and choose whether you want to work with the IEEE 802.11b/g radios or the IEEE 802.11a radios.

  2. Click the Configure link that is next to the name of the AP in order to select the AP that you want to modify.

  3. Choose Enable from the WLAN Override drop-down menu.

Note: The WLAN Override menu is the last item on the left side of the window.

The list of all WLANs that are configured on the WLC appears.

  4. From this list, check the WLANs that you want to appear on the AP, and click Apply.

  5. Save your configuration after you make these changes. If you save your configuration, the changes remain when the WLC reboots.

For more information on the WLC, refer to Configuring Wireless LANs.
