Resolution

You need to keep these guidelines in mind when you use the GUI:

  1. The GUI must be used on a PC that runs Microsoft Windows XP SP1 or later or Windows 2000 SP4 or later.
  2. The GUI is fully compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 SP1 or later.

Note: Opera, Mozilla, and Netscape are not supported.

  3.  You can use either the service port interface or the management interface to open the GUI. Cisco recommends that you use the service-port interface. Refer to the Ports section of

Configuring Ports and Interfaces for instructions on how to configure the service port interface.

  4.   It is possible that you need to disable the pop-up blocker of the browser in order to view the online help.

These are things that you can check if the issue still occurs:

  1. Check that the correct IP address and mask are on the Management interface.
  2. Check that the switch, which connects to the WLC, has the native VLAN set correctly.
  3. Check that the management interface and AP management interface VLANs are set correctly or are ideally left at the default, which is untagged VLAN (VLAN 0 on the WLC). Also, by default, only https access is enabled. If you want to enable http access, you have to type the config network webmode enable command from the controller CLI.

Refer to the Using the Web-Browser and CLI Interfaces section of Cisco Wireless LAN Controller Configuration Guide, Release 4.0 for more information on the how to configure the GUI of controller.
