Hi,
I have just purchased a Cisco WAP321 wireless access point because I knew it operated in workgroup mode and allowed WPA2 Enterprise whilst in this mode. I had expected EAP-FAST to be one of the protocols supported, but that is not the case… why does Cisco’s product not support a Cisco protocol?….
I have for some time been trying to find a USB or bridging device/adapter that supports EAP-FAST. To this point I have failed – please advise:
Your positive help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards

Hi Rick, the reason it doesn't (and won't) support EAP-FAST is because it is a Cisco protocol. The small business product line do not support any Cisco protocols except CDP.

Hi Tom,
Forgive me for being possibly naïve, but EAP-FAST though originated by Cisco is now a recognised - one could say ratified protocol; and as such can be part of the enterprise collection of protocols. That being the case SME’s will start to implement networks which uses EAP-FAST, and will rightly expect a product aimed at small business to operate in such an environment?….
Please note there are 2 parts to my question…. Does anyone know of a workgroup bridge or USB adapter that support EAP-FAST. Intel I know produce PCIe adapters with support but sadly they are not options for me.
Kind regards,
R

I suppose you're right. I just checked for the RFC.
http://tools.ietf.org/rfc/rfc4851.txt
I would suspect it may be one distinction between SB product and TAC enterprise products. I can affirm there isn't any SB adapters for this. There may be a 3rd party adapter but technically nothing supported. The kind of mentality "if it works, good, if it doesn't, unsupported."
