WAP321 - stopped working after power cut

Hello,

After 5 years of perfect usage providing extended wifi coverage to my office, my WAP321 has stopped working after a power cut.

Ive tried the usual reset & turning it off and on along with downloading the Cisco FindIT application to try and find the config area to reenable the radios again but the recommended username & passwords of cisco cisco doesn't work.

Is there anything you can suggest to help me get back online again.

Thanks

Simon

Thanks for your response.

This is the issue,
In Step 2. Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla
Firefox. Type the default static IP address 192.168.1.245 in the URL bar
and press enter. To reach that IP address, be sure that your computer is on
the 192.168.1.xxx network.

I’ve reset the router, then logged into my Mac and typed in 192.168.1.245.
Nothing happens. Would this be because it is trying to connect to the other
router out of range? How would i get around this to access the config area.

The router is connected via Poe.

The current blink indicator on the devise is only the power symbol blinking
red.

Make sure you connect to device back to back until you get GUI access.

ping 192.168.1.254 from your PC, PC should get DHCP or same range of IP to connect when you do factory reset.

How do I connect the device back to back?

Plus how do I ping on a Mac?

I have followed these steps, but i still cant get into the config to re
enable the radio.

I've tried the default fallback IP of 192.168.1.245 and it doesn't lead
anywhere.

The WAP321 is plugged into my router - the power LED is flashing red with
no other LEDs lit.

How do I find what the config IP is to re-activate it?

RED means may be device failure :

try below steps :

Steps:-

->Please try to hard reset the WAP 321 by pressing the reset button for at least 30 seconds until you see all the LAN , wifi and power LED blinked at once.

->Once the hard reset is done, then connect it to one of your laptop/PC statically assign an IP address to your Laptop/PC as 192.168.1.100/24 and default gateway as 192.168.1.245.

->Check with the command prompt whether you are able to get the PING response from default IP address of WAP 321 that is 192.168.1.245.

->In case you are not getting try to change the laptop/PC and the cables, and check again. Still after that there is no access then WAP321 could have a hardware fault and will need an replacement once we confirm the serial number.

->In case you are able to get the response then try to access the IP address 192.168.1.245 on web browser and check GUI of WAP 321 is accessible or not.

I would request you to contact us via call/chat so that we can help you with the WAP321 access and confirm whether there is an hardware fault with it or not via creating a service request.
