My WAP581 has been quite unreliable since the beginning of its life. The longer it has able to live without a reboot is one month.
Quite often, it freezes with no apparent reason. Clients may or may not stay connected, but when they stay connected there is no throughput. Also, the web interface is unaccessible, from either the ethernet ports or radios. After freezing up, the light is still blue as if nothing happened. The only solution is unplugging the POE line. I use the recommended Cisco POE adapter.
Firmware is the latest available as of today. Is anyone experiencing the same? The AP is installed in an unattended location and hence the freezings are unacceptable. Any recommendation for a AP that is reliable and does not need to be rebooted manually? I thought Cisco was the way to go but I was clearly wrong.
Thanks,
Jack
