.11a external antennas

Does anyone know what the rules will be for external antenna connections onto .11a devices in Canada? Will it be the same as the US rules and what exactly are those rules?

In addition, external antennas are at times regulated by the immediate municipalities as well, so it would be best to verify with your local organizations as well.
