1260 can't get IP address & can't joint WLC

Hello Dear

i have Cisco WLC 2504 & 1260 LAP

i connect the WLC to L3 switch & connect the LAP to another port in the same L3 switch.

i configure DHCP on the same switch to provide ip for the LAP , but the LAP can't get an ip address and can't joint the controller.

also if when i login to the LAP i can't enter the configuration mode.

please any help

Hi Ali,

There is no configuration mode for Light Weight Access Points.

The AP should get the ip address from dhcp scope inorder to register with controller.

So first we will have to troubleshoot the dhcp issue.

Could you please provide the running configuration of L3 switch where the dhcp is running and highlight on which port the AP and WLC is connected?

Can you at least plug a pc to that same vlan or port and get an IP address.

the dhcp can provide ip address , i connect another LAP 1200 and take an ip address.

this is the configuration of L3 Switch:

Exactly what firmware is your 2500 running?  It should be running at least 7.0.X.

Ok.  So can you console into the WAP and reboot?  Post the entire bootup process of the WAP.
